9-12th grade- Gesture Jazz

Students will be learning about the process of gesture drawing, and the relation of art making with the influence of music- the concept of the McGurk effect. Students will also be creating gesture art with found objects as a form of personalized mark making.

Assessment

• 5; Student explored artmaking with an alternate tool, and created a piece of art utilizing ink and gesture lines.

• 3-4; Student created a piece of art using ink and gesture lines, but utilized a conventional tool.

• 1-2; Student did not use gesture lines to create art, or an unconventional tool.
